The jubilee album is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Gustav Ernesaks, the composer, choir director and great leader of the Estonian Song Festival movement. Gustav Ernesaks was a prominent Estonian composer, conductor and teacher. He tirelessly conducted many choirs, founded the Estonian National Male Choir and was its long-time conductor, and worked for many years as a teacher in various schools and the Tallinn State Conservatory. He was also active in organizing and general singing of song festivals. Ernesaks became a synonym for song festivals, and it remains to this day. (source: Estonian Music Information Center).
